Kimberly-Clark advertises that its Cottonelle and Scott Naturals personal wipes are “flushable.” But the wipes are not suitable for flushing. When flushed, they can clog household plumbing and septic tanks, and create problems for city sewer systems. Consumers not only overpay for these “flushable” wipes, but may incur expensive bills for plumbing damage.
