KFC Free Chicken Coupon Not Honored

case image

In spring 2009, KFC announced on Oprah that it would give a free Kentucky Grilled Chicken meal to anyone who downloaded and printed a coupon and took it to a KFC restaurant. But when too many people tried to use the coupons, KFC reneged. It honored only 100 coupons per day per store, even when additional supplies were on hand. Then it told people they had to apply in person at a KFC for a "raincheck" form, fill out their name and address, and wait to receive a coupon at a later date.

The case remains pending.
