In January 2011, IMVU announced that it was reducing the playback time of all audio products in the IMVU catalog to 20 seconds. In addition, IMVU informed users that it would restrict the playback time of full-length music products that users had already purchased. Despite the fact that users had been purchasing full-length audio products from IMVU for several years, IMVU further announced that it would offer refunds only for those purchases made on or after December 1, 2010. The lawsuit seeks to recover on behalf of affected IMVU users.
