Advanced Clinicals False Advertising: Hyaluronic Acid

Cosmetics and Beauty Products

The Allegations:

Advanced Clinicals is marketing, advertising, and selling products that make false claims about the products’ ability to moisturize, repair, regenerate, and rejuvenate the skin, particularly with respect to the Advanced Clinicals Hyaluronic Acid Cream (a.k.a., Instant Skin Hydrator). Advanced Clinicals has taken advantage of consumers’ natural desires to have youthful, smooth, plump skin by claiming falsely that hyaluronic acid in these products is capable of attracting 1,000 times its weight in moisture to instantly hydrate skin. As a result of these false claims, Defendants are able to sell their products to unsuspecting consumers at a premium. In reality, consumers are left with expensive, ineffective products that do not live up to the marketing promises.
