AT&T Deleted Voicemails

case image

AT&T wireless customers who paid an extra $1.99 per month for "Enhanced Voicemail" were accustomed to getting a warning when a voicemail was about to be deleted. The service, called "Deletion Notification," allowed the customer to re-save the voicemail for an additional month. But AT&T eliminated "Deletion Notification" without notice, causing tens of thousands of customers to lose their saved voicemails. Our client lost the final voicemail from his mother, who died shortly after leaving the message. Others lost similar voicemails, or important messages from family or business associates. The voicemails could not be retrieved.

A confidential settlement was reached.
